I was lucky enough to attend the Johannesburg show last Sunday and it was, in a word, phenomenal. The entire spectacle is something of a phenomenon, whether it’s Steve Hofmeyer’s antics, to the chaos of so many people descending on the stadium to the unreal feeling of being part of something bigger every time Bono said something nice about SA and everyone was flush with patriotic fervor. But back to Steveand his role in what must be considered one of the dumbest acts of protest ever. What was he thinking? “Bono, you’re so in the wrong, I’m gonna pay you money and then not make use of the thing I bought from you.
